Kern Solar Structures Partners with S2A Modular and FreeVolt USA as Exclusive Provider of Solar CarPorTs™ at Its Nationwide Network of MegaFactories

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Dec. 3, 2020) — Kern Solar Structures, manufacturer of premium-grade custom solar structure solutions, is partnering with S2A Modular and FreeVolt USA as the exclusive provider of Solar CarPorT™ for the company’s network of 35 MegaFactories throughout North America. The first phase of the partnership kicks off with the construction of two custom 240kW solar carport systems at S2A Modular’s Patterson and Hemet MegaFactories. The first Solar CarPorT system being installed consists of three individual carport structures which are designed to allow for system expansion and increased generation capacity as the factories expand its operations. The individual structures are coated in a two-tone polysiloxane protective coating in S2A Modular’s trademark green and white. They also feature laser cut, back-lit, solar wrap column enhancements which include an illuminated S2A Modular logo. These structures are designed to support a custom PVGRAF solar system designed by FreeVolt USA consisting of more than 800 300W PVGRAF solar panels. FreeVolt USA is the world’s only manufacturer of graphene-based PV modules, which generate more power for longer during the day than conventional panels allowing S2A Modular to take advantage of its revolutionary technology. In addition, FreeVolt’s modules are some of the most durable on the market, ensuring the highest levels of energy production throughout their lifetime. Since all MegaFactories are designed from the ground up to operate at maximum efficiency levels, the Solar CarPorTs and PVGRAF modules are critical components and will provide all energy needed to run the factory. California Modular Home Builder Selects Northern Florida MegaFactory Location

S2A Modular – creator of the first electrically self-sustaining, custom and smart-connected GreenLux™ luxury residences and commercial buildings – announced it has purchased 51 acres of land for its first East Coast MegaFactory in Macclenny, Fla., 30-miles west of Jacksonville.

PALO ALTO, Calif., (Oct. 30, 2020) S2A Modular – creator of the first electrically self-sustaining, custom and smart-connected GreenLux™ luxury residences and commercial buildings – announced it has purchased 51 acres of land for its first East Coast MegaFactory in Macclenny, Fla., 30-miles west of Jacksonville. The site is located in the Enterprise East Industrial Park, currently home to a major Walmart distribution center as well as several other small and medium-size businesses. Once operational, the company’s third MegaFactory will feature approximately 13 different buildings and structures totaling more than 240,000 square feet. The factory is expected to generate more than $80 million of economic impact to the region – and an additional $60 million in secondary impact due to the scale of its operations.

 

The land purchase in Macclenny was orchestrated with the help of the Baker County Economic Development Council and the Baker County Chamber of Commerce. Located near Interstate 10 and several major state highways, Enterprise East Industrial Park’s prime location offers S2A Modular several strategic advantages including access to a large skilled workforce, international airport, major rail lines and a rapidly growing population.

When fully operational, the world-class facility will manufacture annually 5,000 revolutionary GreenLux™ luxury smart residences, smart commercial buildings, hotels and multifamily units. The establishment of a MegaFactory in Macclenny, in addition to our MegaFactories in Patterson and Hemet, is part of S2A’s rapid expansion plan to build a total of 35 MegaFactories across the nation by 2025. With S2A present within a region, home buyers and real estate developers will have ready access to higher quality, energy-efficient homes, hotels, multiuse facilities and commercial buildings produced in a climate-controlled factory using technologically advanced construction techniques. S2A Modular Begins Construction on Northern California MegaFactory in Patterson, Calif. – Facility Scheduled to Open Early 2021

(Oct. 8, 2020) S2A Modular – creator of the first electrically self-sustaining, custom and smart-connected GreenLux™ luxury residences and commercial buildings – has begun construction on its Northern California MegaFactory in the Stanislas County city of Patterson. The MegaFactory is being constructed on an aggressive timeline and is expected to be fully operational within the first quarter of 2021. Once complete, the sprawling complex will feature approximately 13 different buildings totaling 240,000 square feet of modular construction workspace, a sales center, model homes and building material production facilities.

The Patterson MegaFactory, which is the first of 35 MegaFactories being built throughout the United States, is expected to generate more than $80 million of economic impact in the region with an additional $60 million in secondary impact through sales activities. The facility will employ approximately 250 skilled workers from the local region and once operating at full capacity, will have the ability to produce about 5,000 homes per year.

PALO ALTO, Calif. (April 21, 2020) S2A Modular – creator of the first electrically self-sustaining, custom and smart-connected #GreenLuxHome luxury residences, apartment buildings, multi-family homes, hotels and commercial buildings – today announced the significant expansion of its executive and sales teams with the appointment of four chief officers and three sales managers who are positioned to help manage the company’s aggressive strategy to rapidly scale its modular home manufacturing capabilities throughout the United States.

At the core of these executive appointments is Larry Braden, S2A Modular’s new Chief Financial Officer. Larry brings more than three decades of corporate finance and compliance experience and is now in charge of all financial operations at S2A Modular. Larry earned his CPA with Deloitte and has worked at increasing levels of responsibility in finance at several world-class companies including PricewarehouseCoopers, Paramount Pictures, Time Warner, Universal Music Group, T-Mobile, Microsoft and Vulcan Inc., Paul Allen’s investment company based in Seattle.  He was also a highly experienced commercial real estate and business broker in California and Washington specializing in business representation, valuation, and commercial real estate.  

Gary Eagleton, one of the industry’s most respected modular construction experts, takes over as Chief Operations Officer to handle the challenging task of designing, implementing and managing the many operational processes required for the construction of all S2A Modular MegaFactories, as well as the finished homes and commercial properties built by the company and its licensed partners.

Dean DeLisle, founder of Chicago-based social media and influencer marketing company Forward Progress, takes over as Chief Marketing Officer. Dean brings with him years of experience in marketing and real estate and is using his vast knowledge of lead generation, digital marketing and social media engagement to help support the company’s sales and marketing efforts.

As part of the chief officer expansion, Ryan Leusch, one of S2A Modular’s first hires, was promoted to Chief Sales Officer and is using his expertise in business development, emerging technologies and renewable energy to lead company’s sales operations. S2A Modular’s expansion also included the addition of three sales managers. Based in Riverside County, Rob Grable heads the Southwest region of the country, Nicole Surber, based in Northern California, heads the Northwest region, and Maureen Nesbit is based in Chicago and heads the company’s Midwest region.
